Wilmington, NC does not have an Amtrak train station. However, this doesn’t mean that getting there is difficult. Amtrak utilizes Amtrak Thruway buses to Wilmington and seven other eastern North Carolina destinations.
In Wilmington the station is via Uber or Lyft it is less than 10 minutes from the historic downtown river district and Riverwalk. Amtrak is a great way for students traveling to/from the University of North Carolina (UNCW) Wilmington campus. If you are looking for a rental car, Enterprise Car Rental is less than 5 minutes away and will pick you up at the station.
From Wilson, NC Amtrak North Carolina Thruway buses go in two directions: one travels to Morehead City, with stops in Greenville, New Bern and Havelock on the northern route; theSouthern route travels to Wilmington with stops in Goldsboro, Kinston and Jacksonville.
Amtrak Thruway buses utilize full-size, modern intercity coaches with comfortable reclining seats, abundant legroom, onboard restroom and WiFi. You can book your ticket online, or 24 hours a day by phone or at the station. Baggage is limited to two carry-on items.
